Welcome to Pepper's SAI2 Essentials brush pack, mrsdrpepper's favorite custom brush presets for PaintTool SAI Ver.2. Installation process for SAI brushes is manual - you must build the brushes yourself using the provided resources and referencing my settings. Please follow this walkthrough carefully if it's your first time doing this!

Installation Guide:

	1. Exit SAI2 if it's open

	2. Locate the "settings" directory in your SAIv2 installation folder.
You should be able find it somewhere like C:\Users\[YourUser]\Documents\SYSTEMAX Software Development\SAIv2\settings

	3. Copy the provided folders "brushfom" and "brushtex" directly into your SAI2 "settings" folder.
This should register the images as assets into the software, so open SAI2 to confirm this worked. (If you find that the new resources aren't registered in the brush shape/texture drop-down lists in the tool editor, close it again, go back to the SAIv2 settings folder to make sure the .bmp and .ini files ended up in the correct locations: "settings\brushfom\brshape" for brush tip .bmp + associated .ini files, and "settings\brushtex" for texture image .bmp files)

3.5. (OPTIONAL STEP) In SAI2, choose a preferred brush group OR create a new group for the custom brushes.
To generate a new group full of empty brush slots, right-click the list of groups in the Tools panel (the small row at the top of the Tools panel where the [Basic][Binary][Ver.1][Artistic] buttons are), and select New Group. Name it and click OK (or it can be renamed later by double-clicking). Again this step is optional, but very helpful for brush organization!

	4. For each custom brush, you must prepare a base brush to build the custom brush from.
I recommend generating a new brush for each one by right-clicking an empty slot in the brush panel, and selecting one of the presets under Basic Tools.
Tip: Nearly all of my brush presets use Basic Tools > Basic > Pencil as a base. The following are exceptions:
- "Soft Erase", "Kneaded Erase" use Basic Tools > Basic > Eraser as a base
- "Oil Flat" uses Basic Tools > Artistic > Oil as a base
- "Airbrush Noisy" uses Basic Tools > Basic > Airbrush as a base

	5. With the base brush selected, build the custom brush by copying all of my settings screenshots exactly.
Apply the resource images by choosing the appropriate brush form and/or texture assets in the drop-down menus, and move ALL of the settings sliders to precisely match the values in my provided screenshot images. Do so carefully!
When you're finished copying my settings, feel free to tweak certain things to your own needs; for example, the Scale % slider under the Brush Texture, if any, should be adjusted if you draw at a particularly high OR low resolution and you feel that the texture detail appears too small OR too large on your strokes

	6. Name the new brush.
To give it the custom name, double-click the brush icon to open a Property window. There is very limited space for this, so use "Tool Name:" for one word and "Additional Name:" for a second word, to fit all of it in the icon.
Optionally, you can set individual Stabilizer level settings per brush here to override the global setting. Example: I tend to add increased individual stabilizer levels on inkers (such as "Ink Tilty" and "Ink Oval") to keep my linework steady. This is only a matter of personal preference, but it keeps me from having to change my global Stabilizer setting back and forth when temporarily switching to other brushes

Repeat steps 4-6 for all brushes as desired, and you should be all set! Please have fun using the brushes
